Paradigm Reference Servo 15 Home Theater Powered Subwoofer ::
The Paradigm® Reference Servo-15 subwoofer is a highly advanced
Closed Loop Servo Subwoofer System designed to provide the most accurate
deep bass response available today. The Servo-15 moves far beyond
the capabilities of any other subwoofer, regardless of size, claimed
power or any particular design wizardry!
At the heart of this amazing sub-woofer is the revolutionary new
ultra-precision Closed Loop Servo System. This self correcting
system provides an entirely new level of accuracy for dramatically
superior deep bass performance. The Servo-15 extends to an astonishing
14Hz and can reproduce ultra-low frequencies at 115dB in a typical
listening room without any audible distortion. This sets all new
standards in deep bass output for any home subwoofer! More important,
however, is the absolute accuracy of deep bass. The Servo-15 must
be heard to be believed - no other subwoofer can match its ability
to retrieve fine bass detail and follow bass lines so precisely.
Starts and stops are instantaneous. The Servo-15 not only plumbs
the depths but does so with a simply shocking sense of realism!
How Servo Works ::
When a bass note is reproduced, the Servo-15’s accelerometer
instantly reads the motion and position of the driver’s cone.
This signal is relayed to a circuit that compares it to the original
input signal. Discrepancies are used to create a correction signal
that modifies the amplifier’s output which, in turn, corrects
the driver’s output. The driver then starts and stops precisely
in tandem with the input signal—audible distortion is thereby
eliminated! And since electrical current moves at the speed of light,
all of this occurs instantaneously and transparently.

Designed and manufactured by Paradigm, this highly advanced 15” driver
has in excess of 1” peak-to-peak travel. Free from unwanted
resonances, standing waves and micro distortions it delivers stunning
bass extension, definition and staggering dynamics. A remarkable
engineering achievement.
- Proprietary 15” (380 mm) High-Excursion Bass
Driver boasts in excess of 2 inches (51 mm) of peak-to-peak cone travel
promoting incredibly deep bass response with tremendous speed

- Next-Generation Mineral-Filled Co-Polymer
Polypropylene Cone with RCR™ Resonance Control Ribs engineered for very high
power and very low levels of distortion.
- 3-Inch (76 mm) 8-Layer Bifilar Aluminum

Input/Control Facilities ::
- Low-Level Input – RCA: allows connection from
the RCA (S/E) Sub/LFE-Output of your preamp/processor or other
suitable low-level source.
- Low-Level Input – Balanced XLR™: allows connection
from the balanced XLR Sub/LFE Output of your preamp/processor or
other suitable low-level source. This input provides the lowest
noise and distortion and is particularly important for long cable runs
where noise and distortion could degrade performance.
- Auto On/Off: eliminates the need for a manually operated power
switch. Turns the subwoofer on when there is an input signal. If
no signal is present after a period of time it turns off.
- Trigger On/Off: allows the subwoofer’s power on/off
to be controlled by components that have trigger outputs (preamp/processor,
etc.)
- Subwoofer Level Control: balances the subwoofer level with
that of the other speakers in your system.
- Subwoofer Cut-Off: (continuously variable 35 Hz – 150
Hz) Controls the subwoofer’s upper-frequency cut-off. Can be
set to match the low-frequency roll-off characteristics of your system’s
speakers.
- Phase Alignment: (continuously variable 0 Hz – 180 Hz)
Synchronizes your subwoofer/speakers through their bass frequency
overlap region.
- Bass Contour: Adjusts the contour of the bass from flat (0.0
dB) (the most accurate for music) up to +6 dB at 60 Hz for more
bass impact with movies to suit your listening preferences.
